First of all this room used to be a large carpeted living area with a dining room in the back. I had a wall installed with an opening for a barn door. Because the office is only 10 feet wide I had a custom desk made to span the width of the room. The three windows bring in lots of natural light and I used an armoire to store our supplies and printer. We built the wall with a barn door in mind and had it framed out to support the extra weight. The door we found at Home Depot and the hardware was purchase at a local store called Lucky Home. The dining area fits my large armoire and table perfectly. I selected a blown glass pendent from Pottery Barn to keep with the open airy feel of the room. Also, we replaced all of the downstairs carpet with wood floors. As much as I would have loved to do a wide plank throughout we had to match the existing kitchen floors to save money. But I love the end result.
