I have been wanting to remodel a trailer for EVER and my dreams finally came true. My clients were looking for a guest house to use at their property as well as a travel trailer for camping. After looking at several options they purchased this 19 foot cutie and had me get to work on it right away. It was really dark on the inside and they wanted to transform it to a light bright BOHO vibe. Take a look at how cute this turned out and I will give you details on how we did it.
White paint was the first thing we did, all the walls got a fresh coat as well as the upper cabinets. We added a faux ship lap using 1/4 plywood we cut into planks and painted white. After taking off the doors of the uppers in the kitchen we added a ‘subway tile’ backsplash. We used Metro Campagnola from Smart Tile, these stick ons are great for trailers because they are light weight and easy to apply. I also had a chopping block made to fit the kitchen sink for added prep space. We took out the old table and added a wood one to match. My client can sew and made these gorgeous covers for the cushions out of mud cloth. The other giant transformation was the bed! Originally this was a fold down sofa in dark leather. We took out the sofa bed and put down a plywood platform to hold a queen size mattress. Last but not least the bedding to brighten it up! I picked this queen set from Joss and Main and the throw and pillow are from Anthropologie. I LOVE how this turned out. Such a fun project!!
